DOGNY Dedication

On September 11, 2003, the Sawnee
Mountain Kennel Club, along with six other
All Breed Georgia Kennel Clubs and twenty four Georgia Breed Specialty
Clubs
donated to the State of Georgia a solid bronze DOGNY (German Shepherd Dog)
statue placed outside the Department of Agriculture building, across from the
Capitol. It will serve as a permanent tribute to America’s search and rescue
dogs.
In attendance was Georgia
Governor Sonny Perdue, State Agriculture Commissioner
Tommy Irvin, COO of The American Kennel Club Dennis Sprung, and American Kennel
Club Board Members, and Georgia residents, Dr. Carmen Battaglia and Dr. Asa Mays.
