  DOGNY Dedication

Return to Photo Gallery

On September 11, 2003, the Sawnee Mountain Kennel Club, along with six other
All Breed Georgia Kennel Clubs and twenty four Georgia Breed Specialty Clubs
donated to the State of Georgia a solid bronze DOGNY (German Shepherd Dog) statue placed outside the Department of Agriculture building, across from the Capitol. It will serve as a permanent tribute to America’s search and rescue dogs.

In attendance was Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue, State Agriculture Commissioner
Tommy Irvin, COO of The American Kennel Club Dennis Sprung, and American Kennel Club Board Members, and Georgia residents, Dr. Carmen Battaglia and Dr. Asa Mays.
